Our Beliefs
We are rooted in the complete, sufficient, and perfect Word of God. The person and finished work of our savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Loving the people of God, demonstrating the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Serving and equipping one another to make disciples of all nations.
-
We believe the Holy Scriptures (66 books) are God’s authoritative revelation to mankind (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, Galatians 1:12).
Written by human authors under the direction of the Holy Spirit, they contain the exact words of God (2 Peter 1:20-21), are perfect in every way (John 17:17), and together represent the supreme and final authority of God (Psalm 19:7-11, 119, Romans 10:17, Hebrews 4:12).
-
We believe in one living, all powerful, all knowing, eternally existing, personal God (Deuteronomy 6:4, 1 Timothy 2:5) who exists in three persons - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:16, John 6:27, John 10:30, 1 Corinthians 3:16). These three coequal persons are perfectly unified in nature, essence, and glory yet each are uncreated and distinct. This one God (2 Corinthians 13:14) is infinite (Malachi 3:6, Acts 17:24), eternal (Hebrews 11:33), never changing (James 1:17), self-existent (Exodus 3:14, John 5:26), Holy (Isaiah 6:3), just (Psalm 9:16), loving (1 John 4:7-21), good (Psalm 100:5), and true (Isaiah 45:19).
-
We believe God the Father is the first Person of the Trinity, through which all things begin and end (Psalm 90:2, 1 Corinthians 8:6).
He is the Creator of all things (Genesis 1:1-31, Ephesians 3:9, Revelation 4:11), the Sustainer of all things (Psalm 104), and the Father to all mankind (Ephesians 4:6).
He saves from the penalty, power, and presence of sin all who come to Him through faith alone in Jesus Christ, adopting us as his own, heirs of God the Father and fellow heirs with Christ (John 1:12, Romans 8:15-17, Galatians 4:5, Hebrews 12:5-9).
-
We believe that Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, is eternal God, equal with the Father (John 1:1, 10:30, 14:9).
He is truly God (John 1:1-2:14, John 17:1-5) and truly man (Philippians 2:5-8). He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-25, Galatians 4:4), lived a life without sin (2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 4:15), performed signs and miracles (Matthew 11:4-5, John 2:11), died as the one and only sufficient sacrifice for our sins, and was buried (Matthew 20:28, John 1:29, Romans 3:25, 1 Corinthians 15:4, Hebrews 10:5-14, 1 Peter 3:18).
After three days in the grave, He was bodily resurrected (Matthew 28:5-10), appeared to the apostles and many other witnesses over a period of 40 days (1 Corinthians 15:5-8, Acts 1:3), ascended to heaven (Acts 1:9), was glorified (1 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 2:9), and now sits at the right hand of God the Father, interceding for all believers (Romans 8:34).
-
We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the trinity, is eternal God, equal with the Father and the Son (Acts 5:3-4).
He was sent to the world to convict the world of sin (John 16:8-11) and restrain lawlessness in the world (Genesis 6:3, 2 Thessalonians 2:7). He is not merely a force or a power, but a distinct, divine person who thinks (1 Corinthians 2:10-13), wills (1 Corinthians 12:11), speaks (Acts 28:25-26), and can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30).
He indwells (John 14:16, Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 1:13-14, 4:30), fills (Acts 1:8, Ephesians 3:16), teaches (1 Corinthians 2:13-15, 1 John 2:27), and seals all believers (Ephesians 1:13-14, 2 Corinthians 1:21-22).
He distributes gifts to all believers for the common good and for the service of one another (1 Corinthians 12:4-7, 1 Peter 4:10), in love (1 Corinthians 14:1), to be used in building up the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 14:12, Ephesians 4:16).

We believe salvation is a free gift of God (Romans 6:23) received solely through personal faith in our Lord Jesus Christ alone (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5-7). The merits of our salvation rest completely on the perfect obedience and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and His finished work on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3, Hebrews 9:11-15, 1 Peter 1:18-21).
Our salvation is not based on human merit or works (John 1:12, Romans 5:18-19, Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10, 1 Peter 1:18-19). Salvation is a regenerative work of the Holy Spirit by which a renewed nature and spiritual life are given (John 3:3-7, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Titus 3:5). Because believers are now a new creation and have been made alive by God, we are no longer slaves to sin (Romans 6), but are now children of God (John 1:12, Romans 8:14-17, Galatians 3:26), set apart to a life of spiritual growth, distinguished by our love (John 15:12-17), and good works (Ephesians 2:10, Colossians 1:10-14, Hebrews 12:1-2, 1 Peter 2:2).
We rest secure knowing we have forgiveness for all sins – past, present, and future, and have been given the gift of eternal life (Ephesians 1:7, 1 John 1:9, John 5:24, 6:39-40, 10:27-30, 1 Peter 1:3-5, 1 John 5:9-13).
-
We believe Christ established and is the Head of His Church (Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 1:22, Colossians 1:18). All believers are joined together by the Holy Spirit into this unified Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-13, Ephesians 4:3).
This Body of believers is set in order by the appointment of elders (Titus 1:5) who are spiritually qualified men (1 Timothy 2:11-12, 5:17-22) tasked with guarding the purity of church doctrine (Titus 1:9), shepherding the flock (1 Peter 5:1-3), and overseeing the local church (Acts 20:28, Hebrews 13:17).
The purpose of the church is to carry out Christ’s work in the world (Acts 1:8), bring worship, praise, and glory to God, and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the World, making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8).
The church is to teach His Word (Colossians 1:24-28, 1 Timothy 4:11), come before the Lord in prayer (Acts 2:42), equip and build up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16), and keep the ordinances of God – baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Acts 2:38-42, 1 Corinthians 11:24-25, Matthew 28:19).
